Tool Vendors

So where do you get these tools?  The good tools are fairly easy to find.  You need only stop by your local Sears or Lowes, or get on their web pages to order your tools.  I suggest you visit the stores and hold the tools in your hand though to see if your are really going to be happy with them.  If you work on your truck much, you'll want to be sure you're comfortable using the tools.

The premium tools are a bit more complicated.  The US vendors all have tool trucks.  A quick check of the phone book will tell you how to get in touch with your local guy.  You may need to meet him at a professional garage while he makes his rounds as unless you intend to spend large sums, you won't likely get him to come to your house.  The German and French tools can be ordered on the internet.  This is a bit more risky because you don't get to try them out first.  Suffice it to say, the worst of them are on par with anything from Snap-On, and the best of them are significantly better.  For Facom tools, you may want to try The Ultimate Garage or Griot’s Garage.  For Hazet, Heyco, Stahlwille, or other German tools, try Samstag Sales or Zelenda Automotive.
