The 800 grants awarded in fiscal year 2009 show the scope of The CarMax Foundation's influence and CarMax's commitment to community involvement, whether as a Company or through the individual efforts of its Associates.
In FY 2009, giving by The CarMax Foundation rose to nearly $1.4 million. This includes $84,500 in donations as part of team-building volunteer opportunities where 130 teams of CarMax Associates helped their communities with service projects.
Since 2003, The CarMax Foundation has invested more than $5 million in the communities we serve through volunteers, matching gifts, and grants.
